Kerala Blasters confronted the demons once again and at the most inopportune time.The inability to find the net despite dominating the game and creating numerous opportunities caused Blasters to eat humble pie in the end.It was the most heartrending result for the team who were the better team by miles throughout the match.But in the end Mohammed Rafique shot a bullet that pierced right through the heart of Blasters,as Athletico de Kolkata became the first Indian Super League winners. In the final minute of injury time Athletico de Kolkata produced what mattered. A brilliant header from Rafique from a corner kick ended Kerala's night in a tearful manner.
